TEAM MAXI!

Long before Rupaul discovered what made our Maxi Shield a superstar, we were always Team Maxi here at TEAMM8! An icon of the Sydney Drag scene, Maxi hosted many events for TEAMM8 over the years.

Unapologetically Australian with an electric larger than life personality and Betty Boop meets Jessica Rabbit aesthetic, Maxi’s star quality is evident on every stage she graces. And boy has she lit up a few! Not to mention landing the gig as Madonna’s hostess on the national Australian leg of the ‘Rebel Heart’ tour, joining Madonna on stage. 

From the opening Ceremony of the Gay Games in 2002 to the closing of the Olympic Games in 2000 in Sydney and literally every venue across Sydney, the veteran and much loved drag performer has certainly paid her dues. Tirelessly working for her community to fund raise whenever called upon and always with a smile as big as her heart!

Everything about Kris Elliot (real name) makes him and Maxi an everyday champion! Inspiring, admirable, funny, gorgeous and a positive voice for the community and now the world! We couldn’t be prouder!
