Name: Dan Slater
Current position: DJ & Producer
Where is your home team?
Born and raised Sydney, Australia.
Who do you play for now?
I’m currently living in Miami, United States. I moved here nearly four years ago, and I love it!
What’s your game plan?
I’m planning on releasing more music, and start my own marketing/management company.
What’s your strategy to achieve it?
I have been working on a lot of new original tracks and remixes, with three being released in the next few months:
- Dan Slater & Zoë Badwi – We Are
- Dan Slater – Pieces feat. Alan Gendreau
- Dan Slater & Zoë Badwi – I’ve Been Waiting
I’m also studying, and trying to think outside the square more.
List 1 or 2 ‘gold medal’ moments in your life?
Can I list three?
- Graduating from University with a Bachelor of Business (Marketing).
- Working in my first stage musical with Mamma Mia!
- My DJ gig at Sydney’s Mardi Gras in 2014.
Who are your champions?
100% would have to be my parents.
In your opinion, what makes an everyday champion?
Someone who strives to be the best person that they can.
What’s your motto?
Live life to the fullest!
WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO KEEP YOURSELF MOTIVATED AFTER ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED AND CONTINUES TO HAPPEN (COVID-19)?
2020 was such an interesting year. It looked like it was going to be one of the best years ever career wise. Then COVID-19 happened and work went from 100 to zero. Looking back it was one of the toughest but most rewarding years of my life. I’m not ashamed to share that I was seeing a therapist weekly. It has definitely made me a better person. I’ve been working on music projects, studied Digital Marketing, and started developing my own lifestyle brand. My work as a DJ is picking up again slowly, but there is still so much uncertainty.
