Jack Vidgen, all grown up M8 of March!

It feels like we’ve known Jack Vidgen forever, then again he was a mere 14 years old when he won  Australia’s Got Talent and was instantly catapulted into stardom. His angelic yet powerful voice had the nation going gaga for Jack, releasing 2 successful albums through Sony music before wanting to spread his wings and heading Stateside to find himself.

Alone at 16 in Los Angeles is no easy feat, but Jack doesn’t do things the easy way. He creates his own path, owning who he is and what he stands for. Jack has always had tongues wagging for one thing or another, but he is the first to come forth and set the record straight. Like the time he posted pics on social media of a fun night out with friends dressed in drag. When speculation started about gender identity, Jack responded ‘Being Trans is a beautiful thing though and I love that people are asking questions. My pronouns are he/him”. 

Being under public scrutiny from such a young age obviously comes with its challenges, but this young man has put himself out there time and time again, letting his talent do the talking, and boy is that voice undeniable! Returning to compete in the international franchise, America’s Got Talent - The Champions and then appearing on Australia’s The Voice and the Masked Singer as well as featuring in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

It’s very clear that Jack is only just getting into gear, making new music and defining what it is to be yourself, unapologetically. And we’re here for it!

What’s your game plan: I want to continue to write and record authentic music that is healing for me. I have personal and professional goals but prefer to live each day as it comes. I’m also excited to get more involved in radio and start my podcast! 

What’s your strategy to achieve it:  The most powerful thing I find in my life (to achieve what you want) is to live authentically and be present. Huge believer in manifesting the things you want. 

1 or 2 gold medal moments in your life: 

1. Winning Australia’s Got Talent takes the cake for me
2. Something that I can’t talk about just yet but will be coming out on tv this year

Who are your champions: As cliche as it is, my mum and dad. My mum always fought and worked so hard (working three jobs at times) to give me a good life. My dad was diagnosed with MS when I was little and has slowly deteriorated over the years but he has the most happy-go-lucky attitude and never let his disease stop him. 

What makes an everyday champion: I think what makes an everyday champion is relative to what is going on in their life. For some people, just getting up, making their bed and putting one foot in front of the other is a big deal for what is going on in their life. 

What’s your motto: Not a motto but I’m a huge believer in everything is meant to be and timing is everything. Also a big believer in trusting your instincts.
