Sexiest Aussie Farmer: Lucas our M8 of April

Sexiest Aussie Farmer: Lucas our M8 of April

Sometimes you don’t know your own capabilities until you have no choice but to take the bull by the horns and get sh*t done. Pun intended! Especially when we’re talking about our M8 of April who purchased a derelict farm in the magical NSW hinterland and literally transformed it himself to its current jaw-dropping, spectacular glory.

Lucas Quaresimin not only undertook a huge tree change, moving from the big smoke of Sydney to his farm dream but found himself amidst a huge time of turbulence for the area which suffered the worst flooding in Australia's history, devastatingly destroying most of the works he had completed on the farm, practically overnight.

In true Aussie fighting spirit and gutsy determination, Lucas dug deep and got back to work, and rebuilt what he had lost and the result is nothing short of stunning. Check out Lucas’ story below. Who’s ready for a tree change??

NAME: Lucas Quaresimim

AGE: 31

CURRENT POSITION: Farmer

WHERE IS YOUR HOME TEAM: Western Australia

WHO DO YOU PLAY FOR NOW: Nimbin NSW, Australia

WHAT’S YOUR GAME PLAN:

I have recently discovered I have a passion for restoring run-down farms. I was lucky enough to buy and restore an old farm and now that I have the experience and knowledge I would like to do it again.

WHAT’S YOUR STRATEGY TO ACHIEVE IT:
I have listed my existing farm for sale and I have been actively looking every day to find the next “special farm” I am looking for something that nobody else would deem special, just like my existing farm looked when I bought it.

LIST 1 OR 2 ‘GOLD MEDAL’ MOMENTS IN YOUR LIFE:

The day I found comfort in being myself and knowing I wouldn’t trade my life for anyone else’s life.

Buying my farm and restoring it : Have a look at Lucas' barn here!

WHO ARE YOUR CHAMPIONS:
My partner, the day they walked into my life I found so many of my anxieties and insecurities disappeared.
My ex, because I wouldn’t have grown or found myself without them. Still one of my closest friends he encourages me to be my best and reminds me every day that I can achieve anything.

IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT MAKES AN EVERYDAY CHAMPION:
I feel like there is no right or wrong opinion on this. I think an everyday champion is someone who gets up and tries their best to be their best at whatever it is they are doing. For some people, it’s a struggle to get out of bed so getting out of bed makes them a champion. For others, it’s being great at their job or a great friend. Everyone is their own kind of champion.

WHAT’S YOUR MOTTO:
I guess one thing that has really driven me to complete my farm and building projects is to always have a mindset that I am capable of doing anything that anyone I hire is doing. Often during covid and flooding etc. I had trades not show up. I watched a lot of YouTube and before I knew it I was practically declaring myself qualified and doing that job myself. From hanging beams to installing roofing and bracing. I strongly don’t advise people to start thinking they are electricians haha (I’ve learnt the hard way) but so much of what we think we can’t do we are more than capable of doing.
